Pop star Aaron Carter is being sued by a Los Angeles record company after attempting to void a standing contract he had with executives. Bosses at Trans Continental Records claim Carter, 18, signed the contract in December 2004, when he was 17, and is now trying to cancel the agreement on the grounds he was a minor at the time. According to the papers, obtained by entertainment website TMZ.com, Carter's lawyers notified Trans Continental that Carter "hereby disaffirms... and voids any and all such agreements that may have been signed." The record label's executives claim a Superior Court judge had approved the contract when it was signed - therefore, it cannot be disavowed now. According to the papers, Carter's father represented his son during the negotiations with Trans Continental. The spat is the latest legal battle for Carter - in 2003, he severed relations with his manager/mother, accusing her of stealing from him.
