Singer Aaron Neville is paying tribute to some of soul music's biggest stars by recording 15 soul classics for his next album. The DON'T KNOW MUCH singer is currently recording the album in Los Angeles and Nashville, Tennessee, and it is set for a September (06) release. Neville claims he owes a debt of gratitude to singer SAM COOKE saying, "Sam is one of my biggest influences. "When most gospel singers were shouting, he came in smooth." Neville takes on three songs from Cooke, as well as three from Curtis Mayfield, along with tunes by Otis Redding, Ray Charles and Al Green. He adds, "I'm happy to have a chance to give these guys some respect. These are great artists and I'm trying to do them proud."
