Above The Law star Kmg has passed away.
Music executive Chad Kiser confirmed the news to HipHopDX.com over the weekend (07-08Jul12) but details of the rapper's death were unavailable as WENN went to press.
Kmg, real name Kevin Michael Gulley, founded the rap group in Pomona, California in 1989 with Go MACk, Big Hutch, also known as Cold 187um, and Dj TOtal K-Oss.
Throughout his career he worked on eight Above The Law albums, including Livin' Like Hustlers and Black Mafia Life, the latter featuring an appearance by tragic star Tupac Shakur, and he also featured on several of local rapper Kokane's records.
Dozens of music stars have since taken to Twitter.com to pay tribute to their fallen pal, with Dr. Dre's producer brother Warren G tweeting, "Rip to my original G Funk homeboy Kmg. him and above the law raised me as a rookie (sic)", and actor/rapper Ice-T adding, "A very very Sad day in Hip Hop... Respect to the homies."
