The grave of tragic AC/DC frontman BON SCOTT has been declared a national heritage site in Australia.

Scott died in 1980, but his legend lives on and now officials in Fremantle, Western Australia, have chosen to honour their dead son.

The grave has been recognised due to AC/DC's global popularity and because it is visited by thousands of fans each year.

In addition, a bid to have a Bon Scott statue erected in Fremantle's Pioneer Park has received the blessing of town mayor PETER TAGLIAFERRI.

DOUG THORNCROFT, the president of the fan club behind the statue honour, is hoping for a July (06) unveiling - to coincide with what would have been Scott's 60th birthday.

The fan club has launched a campaign to raise the money for the statue.
