Adele - Adele Blasts Dylan Cover Critics
British soul singer Adele has hit back at criticisms of her Bob Dylan cover MAKE YOU FEEL MY LOVE, insisting she has "saved" the folk legend by making him a fortune in royalties.
The Chasing Pavements star recorded a rendition of the 1997 song for her 2008 breakthrough album 19, and the cover version reappeared in the U.K. charts last year (10) after it was featured on Britain's biggest TV talent show The X Factor.
And the London-born singer is adamant she hasn't harmed Dylan's reputation by recording her bluesy version - revealing he can expect a $1.5 million (£1 million) pay day from her cover alone.
She tells Britain's The Sun, "Someone told me the other day they read online that I killed Bob Dylan with Make You Feel My Love. I actually think I've saved him.
"He's going to get $1 million out of that song. He's going to get a big pay cheque at the end of the year. I reckon, with the amount it's been played on the radio and the sales of about 400,000 since it was on The X Factor, it's worth a lot to him.
"Maybe he'll buy me a watch or something."
