Adele, the multi-award winning British singer who is tipped to storm the Grammy Awards next month, has claimed her boyfriend Simon Konecki has been divorced for over four years, despite tabloid reports suggesting otherwise. The Rolling In The Deep singer finally broke her silence regarding her romance with the charity boss following reports he was seeing a married father of one.
Talking on her blog on Tuesday (17 January 2012) to clear up the tabloid allegations about Konecki being married to fashion stylist Clary Fisher, Adele told fans, "This is the first and last time I will comment on the details of my relationship with Simon. Contrary to reports and headlines in the press today, Simon is divorced and has been for 4 years". Konecki and Clary Fisher married in 2004 and have a 5-year-old daughter together - according to Adele, the pair divorced in 2008. In a rare statement regarding her personal life, the singer added, "Everyone in our lives separately and together wish us nothing but the best, and vice versa. These are the facts. Take care and see you all in February xx". The reference to February is another hint that Adele will sing at the Grammy Awards, where she is expected to sweep the board. She has been resting her vocals after undergoing surgery in late 2011, but has made numerous allusions to a possible performance at the Grammys and features on the event's promotional materials.
It is assumed she was introduced to Konecki by his friend, the musician Ed Sheeran. The pair went public with their relationship after taking a holiday in Florida together.
