British soul singer Adele has landed four nominations for the upcoming 2011 American Music Awards.
The Rolling in the Deep hitmaker leads the pack for the November (11) prizegiving after landing Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist and Album of the Year honours.
Her peers Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna all scored three nominations, as did rapper Lil Wayne and country act The Band Perry.
Other stars to receive nods include Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Kanye West, Pitbull, Nicki Minaj, Usher, and Bruno Mars.
The soul/R&B categories will be particularly interesting this year - Beyonce will go head-to-head with her pal and former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland for the Favorite Female Artist honour and Rihanna will compete against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown for Best Album.
The honours will be handed out at the 31st annual American Music Awards ceremony at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on 20 November (11).
