Adele has been forced to postpone two concert dates after falling ill with a chest infection.
The London born singer has been forced to withdraw from performances at Plymouth Pavilions on Sunday evening (04.09.2011) and at Bournemouth International Centre on Monday (05.09.2011). In a statement on her website the 23-year-old said "hi guys, sorry about the first 2 shows. im as useless as a slug right now, ive had a rotten cold since i got home earlier this week and was hoping it wouldnt make its way onto my chest. but unfortunately it has and its leaving me breathless and i cant hold any of my notes when i sing." The Someone Like You hit maker has recently been nominated for the 2011 Mercury Music Prize with the winner set to be announced on Wednesday (07.09.2011)
Adele has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame since releasing her debut album, 19 in 2008. Born in Tottenham, London she began singing from an early age and graduated from the Brit school of performing arts in 2006 which provides training to talented performers and has produced artists such as Katy B, Jeese J and Leona Lewis. Since then she has gone onto release a second studio album, 21 which has received both commercial success and critical acclaim, spending eleven consecutive weeks at number one in the UK album charts.
