Aerosmith's appearance at a charity gig in the band's hometown this week (beg27May13) was tinged with sadness for Joe Perry as he struggled to watch Boston play without late frontman Brad Delp.

Perry's band headlined Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration to raise money for the victims of the recent marathon bombings in the city and the More Than a Feeling hitmakers joined Aerosmith on the bill.

However, Perry admits Thursday night's (30May13) gig at the city's TD Garden venue was a poignant occasion for him as he remembered Boston's late frontman Delp, who committed suicide in 2007.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, Perry writes, "Yes Brad Delp was sorely missed at the concert. His passing was a sad time for friends, Boston and fans."
