Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper and Slash are among the stars who have donated signed guitars to a charity auction in memory of late rocker Ronnie James Dio.

The former Black Sabbath singer passed away in 2010 after a battle with stomach cancer and his widow, Wendy, subsequently set up the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund to raise money for research into the disease and encourage early detection.

A massive guitar auction has been organised to raise funds for the charity, and a number of musicians have donated instruments in memory of Dio.

The sale features more than 80 guitars, also including donations from Queen rocker Brian May, Eddie Van Halen and Carlos Santana, as well as members of Metallica, Slayer and Def Leppard.

The items will go under the hammer at Julien's Auction House in Beverly Hills, California on 1 December (12).
