ABBA singer Agnetha Faltskog has returned to the recording studio to work on her first original material in 25 years.

The Swedish star is working on a new record, which will feature her first newly-penned songs since 1987. She last released a disc in 2004, which was a collection of 1960s covers.

The reclusive star has teamed up with Jorgen Elofsson, the man who wrote Britney Spears' hits Crazy and Sometimes.

A spokesperson for the singer says, "It's true, she's gone into the studio again."
