McCourt Blasts Angela Ashes Adaptation
Best-selling novelist FRANK McCOURT has blasted SIR Alan Parker's film adaptation of his 1997 autobiography ANGELA'S ASHES.
Parker directed ROBERT CARYLYE and Emily Watson in the 1999 drama, about McCourt's poverty-stricken childhood in Limerick, Ireland, in the '30s.
McCourt moans, "It's dreary and humourless. Parker wanted to be faithful to the book and he was too faithful to the wrong parts."19/04/2004 14:02
