Legendary New York punk venue CBGB's is to be the backdrop for a new movie from the filmmaking team behind Alan Rickman's acclaimed wine drama BOTTLE SHOCK.
The untitled project will chronicle the birth of late club boss Hilly Kristal's New York mecca, where bands like Talking Heads, Blondie and The Ramones performed in the 1970s.
Director Jody Savin admits it will be a labour of love: "This is a film about an era of music, about a place that I hung out at in New York in the early 80s and about an unsung champion of new music."
The film is scheduled to shoot next summer (11).
