Alice Englert was blown away by the 'Beautiful Creatures' cast.

The young Australian actress was in complete awe of her A-List co-stars - who included Oscar winners Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson and Viola Davis - and Alice and her on-screen love interest Alden Ehrenreich picked up tips from the Hollywood icons to improve their own performances in the fantasy flick.

She gushed: ''Oh man, people like Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons... the whole cast, I love them so much, I can't even put it into words! They're all so original in their own personalities and they're so driven - their work ethics are amazing.

''That blew me away. It was incredibly inspiring working with them on set, just watching them. I think it raises your game as well. Me and Alden would just watch them on the monitors when we weren't even filming.''

The up-and-coming star plays supernatural teen Lena Duchannes in Richard LaGravenese's new romance based on The Castor Chronicles novel series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, but she is adamant she banished the inevitable comparisons to the books from her mind before stepping on set.

She told FlicksandBits.com: ''We just put it to the side. For me, pressure doesn't help you do your job better, I think it hinders your relationship to the work and the material that you are working with.

''So we wanted to work from the script, and what we had been given, in this new medium. We wanted to make sure that we left the book to always be the fans.''
