Roger Daltrey and Mick Jones performed together at the official premiere of the W London - Leicester Square hotel last night (16.03.11) which saw North, South, East and West London come together to celebrate.

The Who frontman and the former Clash guitarist were joined by Kasabian axeman Jay Mehler and former Oasis drummer Zak Starkey to create house band The W's.

The group were introduced on stage by supermodel Kate Moss and played several songs, including The Clash's 'London Calling' and The Who's 'I Can't Explain' at the exclusive W London Calling party.

Roger needed some help to remember the lyrics to some of the tracks, and had them written on a piece of paper which he had in his hand.

He told the crowd "I've been rehearsing for my Teenage Cancer Trust show next week, so I can remember the words. But the great thing is the hotel has chosen the Elton John Aids Foundation as their charity."

Their set was witnessed by a host of stars, including Boy George, Alexa Chung, Jade Jagger and Estelle.

Guests enjoyed a specially created drink, the Wyld Calling Shot, which was comprised of Tapatio Blanco tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, agave syrup and sage leaves and the champagne flowed all night.
