Alicia Keys visited an air force base in the Phillipines on Monday (25Nov13) to show her support for hundreds of people hit by Typhoon Haiyan.

The Fallin' singer was in the capital city Manila on Monday (25Nov13) to perform at the Mall of Asia Arena, and made a visit to the Villamor Air Base to distribute crayons and colouring books to children who have been left homeless by the super storm.

Keys told The Philippines Star, "Music has a way of lifting your spirit and that's what I hope to do for the Filipino people."

Three days after the storm hit on 8 November (13), Keys to to Twitter.com to voice her support, writing, "To the people of the Philippines my heart is with you."

She has since been encouraging her fans around the world to donate generously to relief funds for those affected by the storm.

More than 5,200 people have died since the typhoon hit, and thousands have been left homeless.
