Alicia Keys joined David Bowie for a showstopping jam session to close the Keep a Child Alive organisation benefit concert in New York on Thursday night (09NOV06). Keys, the charity's ambassador, acted as musical director for the event at Hammerstein Ballroom, and thrilled music fans when she duetted with Bowie on his hit CHANGES to end the show. Keys also shared the stage with DAMIAN 'JR GONG' MARLEY and Angelique Kidjo. It was a family event for Bowie - his wife Iman co-hosted the show at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Others taking part in the star-studded black tie gala included hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and Elijah Wood. Keys also filmed a video in Africa, which was premiered at the event. In the film, the FALLIN' singer visited a Keep a Child Alive clinic, where she talked to teenagers who lost their parents to AIDS. She brought three of the children featured in the video onstage, allowing one of them to meet his hero, Lord Of The Rings star Wood.
