R+B singer Alicia Keys is joining forces with US broadcaster UPN to produce a new TV drama loosely based on her adolescence.

The FALLIN' star, 24, was born to a white mother and black father who split up when she was two, and grew up in the tough Hell's Kitchen district of New York City.

Keys will act as executive producer for the series and FELICIA HENDERSON - who has worked on US TV shows MOESHA and THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR - has been signed up to write the script.
