Amanda Bynes has admitted to having a nose job.

The troubled star confirmed she underwent plastic surgery on her face to remove excess skin between her nose and eyes and insists she is pleased at the results post-surgery.

She wrote on her Twitter: ''I had a nose job to remove skin that was like a webbing in between my eyes. Having surgery was the most amazing thing for my confidence! (sic)''

Amanda - whose recent bizarre behaviour has caused concern over her mental health - hopes her confession will stop magazines publishing old, unflattering photographs of her as she believes her new look is much more attractive.

She tweeted: ''I wasn't going to tell anyone, but I look so much prettier in my new photos that I don't want old photos used anymore! I'm so sick of magazines and blogs using old photos! When will they stop? I will never look like that again! (sic)''

The 27-year-old actress has also been posting a series of revealing photographs on her page as of late, showing her slender figure after she claimed to be suffering from an eating disorder.

In a caption accompanying one raunchy pic, Amanda wrote: ''About to put on makeup! I weigh 135, I've gained weight! I need to be 100 lbs! (sic)''
