It was another week for NBC's peacock to crow. The struggling network saw its America's Got Talent rank first and second in the Nielsen ratings, with the two-hour Tuesday edition averaging 12 million viewers and the one-hour Wednesday edition 11.1 million. Moreover, its Sunday night preseason NFL telecast between the Saints and Raiders averaged 9.3 million viewers. It was enough to give NBC a second-place win for the week among the key 18-49 demographic and a second-place finish among total adults with an average 3.4 household rating and a 6 share, behind leader CBS with a 4.0/7. ABC came in third among total adults with a 3.1/5, but Fox floundered with a 1.8/3. Among the nightly newscasts, NBC expanded its lead again with 8.8 million tuning in to NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams . ABC World News with Diane Sawyer placed second with 7.7 million viewers, while the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley placed third with 6.1 million.
