American Idol – AMERICAN IDOL returned to screens last night (26th January 2011) for the third episode of its tenth season. Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and RANDY JACKON judged a new batch of hopefuls in Milwaukee and one contestant in particular caught their eye.
26-year-old CHRIS MEDINA appeared before the superstar judging panel and told the story of his fiancee Juliana, who he recently proposed to after dating for six years. However, two months before they were due to wed, Juliana was involved in an accident that left her with brain damage and Medina told the judges, “Everything changed. We're still not married”. Medina sang The Script’s ‘Breakeven’ for his audition and the judges were unanimous in their decision to put him through to the next round in Hollywood. After listening to his tragic story, the judges invited Juliana into the studio and Aerosmith frontman Tyler told her, “He sings to you all the time. I could tell. That's why he sings so good because he sings to you”.
Also on last night’s episode was SCOTTY MCCREERY, a 16-year-old country singer from North Carolina was put through to the next round after impressing the judges with his powerful voice. However, 19-year-old student JOE REPKA will be remembered for all the wrong reasons after failing to impress Lopez and co with a comical version of Billy Joel’s hit ‘The Longest Time’.
