Awful American Idol reject WILLIAM HUNG has landed an unlikely record deal, despite being told he's one of the worst singers to grace the American talent show's auditions stage.

The goofy 21-year-old had Idol judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul in fits of giggles as he danced and sang his way through a terrible version of Ricky Martin's SHE BANGS. But, despite failing to make it to the first round, Hung has now signed up to release an album, THE TRUE IDOL, for KOCH RECORDS.

The project will feature She Bangs and other quirky covers, including Martin's SHAKE YOUR BON BON and Elton John's ROCKET MAN.

The modest wannabe says, "So I'm not famous for the right reasons. I'm infamous, a joke. It doesn't make me feel good, because I'm a genuine person, but I don't let it get to me, because I am who I am."

The album is sure to be a big hit - Hung's official website is one of the most successful in America.
