American Idol finally got a bit of a bounce Wednesday night as its performance installment attracted 12.45 million viewers and nailed a 3.3 rating and a 9 share among the 18-49 age group. Those were by far the best ratings of the night and they gave Fox an easy win for the night. With a slate of mostly reruns, CBS came in second with an average 7.75 million viewers for the night. The three late-night broadcast shows waged a tight race. A repeat of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno still topped the Nielsen list with a 2.5 rating and a 7 share. Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC finished with a 2.4/6, just edging out Late Show with David Letterman, with a 2.3/6.
