Amy Adams is in talks to star in crime thriller 'Dark Places'.

The 'Muppets' actress has entered negotiations to appear in the adaptation of the Gillian Flynn novel, which would see the flame-haired beauty play broken woman Libby Day, Deadline reports.

The movie tells the story of Libby, who at seven years old survived the massacre of her family and testified against her brother as The Murderer. But 25 years later a group obsessed with solving famous crimes question her about the truth of what happened on that fateful day.

Gilles Paquet-Brenner is set to direct the motion picture from his own script and Stephane Marsil and Peter Sarfan will produce.

Amy recently starred alongside Clint Eastwood and Justin Timberlake in sports drama 'Trouble With The Curve', and she recently rapped on Superman movie 'Man of Steel', which sees her play Lois Lane, the love interest of Clark Kent/Superman.

The 'Fighter' actress is set to star in 'Object of Beauty', an adaptation of Steve Martin's novel, and she will also produce the film alongside Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray.
