Andy Murray, the first British man to reach the Wimbledon singles final since 1938, may have lost to Switzerland's Roger Federer on Sunday, but he succeeded in drawing the second-biggest television audience of the year in the U.K. According to ratings figures, the BBC telecast of the match was watched by an average of 11.4 million viewers and a peak of 17 million, the largest number to tune in to a Wimbledon match since 1980. Federer beat Murray 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4, giving him his seventh Wimbledon title.
