Angelina Jolie is taking on a new role as a "special envoy" in her work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.
The Hollywood beauty, who was honoured for her 10 years as a U.N. representative at a gala in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday (03Oct11), will now work in a more focused field - as a Special Representative on the Afghan refugee situation.
Jolie is currently working with U.N. officials to establish where best her efforts can help, although Antonio Guterres, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, claims the actress will be his "special envoy" and he plans to use her voice to help "mobilise strong international support".
Jolie has also worked closely with refugees from Tunisia, Syria and Libya in recent months.
