Actress/director Sara Polley has reportedly signed on to adapt Louisa May Alcott’s story, which follows the fortunes of four sisters growing up in post-Civil War America.

Pascal, who is stepping down from her post as co-chairman of Sony in light of the hacking scandal, will co-produce the project.

Little Women has previously been adapted into three films - the last, in 1994, featured Winona Ryder and Kirsten Dunst.
