Ansel Elgort isn't sure if he's the right actor to play Spider-Man.

The 21-year-old star, who is known for appearing as Caleb Prior in 'Divergent' and Augustus Waters in 'The Fault in Our Stars', has been linked to the coveted role since it was announced Andrew Garfield would not be returning, but he's cautious about taking on such a big commitment.

Asked about playing the iconic superhero, he told Screenrant: ''I like Captain America, I thought that was a dope film, really cool but I don't know, I've never done [a superhero role].''

Later, he added: ''I think it would be a big thing to do and a big commitment.''

Meanwhile, Ansel recently revealed he doesn't find his 'The Fault in Our Stars', 'Divergent' and 'Insurgent' co-star Shailene Woodley ''sexually attractive''.

The hunk is adamant there's never been any romantic tension between the pair because he doesn't see her in that context.

He said: ''Me and Shailene have a really platonic relationship. I've never once wanted her sexually, which is nice.

''But for me, if a person is someone I'm attracted to, and she's my best friend, hopefully we're dating.''
