SIR Anthony Hopkins values his long list of hobbies over his acting career - and brands himself "a beach bum".
The Silence Of The Lambs star moved to America in the 1970s, and insists he's happy filling his days with creative pursuits.
He says, "I drifted to the US 30 years ago and stayed. I'm a beach bum.
"I enjoy life. Walking on the beach, painting, reading and composing music. Some people in Britain think I've sold out but I don't care."
And he admits movie bosses go out of their way to secure his acting skills - even though he doesn't actively seek out work.
He says, "The less interested I am, the more they keep offering me roles and if they seem like fun I'll take them."
