The Archbishop Of Sydney, Australia, has become the latest Catholic leader to praise Mel Gibson's movie THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST - because it focuses attention on the meaning of Easter.

ARCHBISHOP GEORGE PELL told a congregation during mass on Good Friday (09APR04), "The film has focused public attention on the Christian understanding of the whole Easter season more effectively than any other event for years.

"Many who came to the Easter ceremonies this year came with a clearer vision."

Gibson is planning to re-release the epic movie in cinemas every Easter.
