Aretha Franklin marked the holiday season by throwing a lavish Christmas party in her hometown for her family and friends.
The veteran singer had much to celebrate after overcoming a mystery illness in 2010 to return to the stage this year (11) and she thanked her loved ones for their support by hosting a glitzy event in Detroit, Michigan on Friday (23Dec11).
Franklin treated her guests to dinner at the Detroit Athletic Club, and the gathering enjoyed performances from Gwen & Charles Scales, her son Eddie Franklin, Duke Fakir and the Four Tops.
The star even took the microphone herself at the end of the night to sing Silent Night with the Four Tops, according to the Detroit News.
