Arnold Schwarzenegger could one day appear on the hit television series Extras, well, that's if creator Ricky Gervais has his way.

The Terminator actor and now governor of California is just one of a number of Hollywood stars making it on to the comedian's wish list.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Gervais said: "People seem to like it and I think that there's some mileage in it. My wish list for guests to appear in another series is as long as your arm, but Governor Schwarzenegger has to be there."

Although his previous series, The Office, left screens after two series it seems that Extras might make it to a third to see whether Andy Millman (Gervais) and Maggie Jacobs (Ashley Jenson) ever get together.

If it did go ahead then other stars in Gervais' A-Team would include Meryl Streep, Bruce Willis, Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney a group he describes as "icons for me".

Celebs who have appeared on the show in the past include Sir Ian McKellen, Chris Martin, Kate Winslet, Orlando Bloom and Samuel L Jackson.
