A personal trainer is facing trial after allegedly harassing Ashanti's mother with lewd texts about the singer.
Devar Hurd, 31, sent more than 30 messages to the star's mum Tina Douglas' cell phone earlier this year (09) before he was arrested in July, according to legal papers filed in a New York court.
The texts included sexual and romantic scenarios, career advice for Ashanti and comments about her relationship with rapper Nelly, as well as photos of male genitalia.
Another message showed a picture of Douglas' home, reports the New York Daily News.
Gym worker Hurd, who is being held on $50,000 (£31,250) bond, has pleaded not guilty to stalking and aggravated harassment. He faces up to two years in prison if convicted.
