Details of Ashton Kutcher's 'Two and a Half Men' character have finally been revealed. The Hollywood star will play internet billionaire 'Walden Schmidt' in series nine of America's biggest sitcom, according to Access Hollywood.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association Summer Session, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler told reporters, "His name is Walden Schmidt. He is an internet billionaire with a broken heart and it [first episode] will be a two-parter over two weeks". Recent speculation had suggested season nine would open with Charlie Sheen's former character being buried following his death, but Tassler remained tight-lipped on the issue, saying, "I know that was out there, I'm not going to confirm or deny that. The information that I gave you is confirmed. As we said in the whole marketing plan, all will be revealed". Kutcher was considered a surprise choice to join 'Men' after Sheen was fired for his increasingly erratic behaviour and outspoken remarks about series creator Chuck Lorre. Sheen has since penned a deal to star in a sitcom adaptation of the Jack Nicholson movie 'Anger Management'.
Ashton Kutcher joins returning stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones for the 'Two and a Half Men' season nine premiere on 9th September 2011.
