DJ Avicii didn't want Rihanna or Chris Brown on his album.

The chart-topping Swedish remixer-and-producer - who has scored his second UK number one with 'Wake Me Up', which features singer Aloe Blacc - claims the pop megastars won't feature on his upcoming debut album 'TRUE' as he prefers to think ''outside the box''.

Avicci - real name Tim Bergling - told the Daily Star newspaper: ''I tend not to go for your Rihannas and Chris Browns. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's more fun when there's no boundaries. I try to go after the people who are a bit far-fetched and out of the box, who could add something new.''

He added: ''I've got more access to really talented people nowadays, like Nile Rodgers and Aloe, especially on my next record.''

The 'folk-beat' style of 'Wake Me Up!' is the beginning of a new direction for Avicii and he insists he wants to work with more instrumentalists on his new tracks.

The 23-year-old star explained: ''It's super different to what I've been doing before and what everyone else is doing right now. For myself it's important to use instruments so I decided to keep the guitars and that kind of vibe.

''Usually DJs just get the vocal and put something else underneath, but I thought the guitar added something special.''

Avicii's album 'TRUE' is released in September.
