Lavigne's Stalker Heads To Trial
LATEST: An alleged stalker obsessed with pop star Avril Lavigne is heading for trial after a judge in Washington state decided he's not as innocent as he seems.
James Speedy was charged with harassment last year (04) - after bombarding the singer with letters and requests for meetings, and even turning up at her parents' home in Ontario, Canada.
Speedy has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him, but will have to fight for his freedom in court in May (05).
The Seattle, Washington, native was arrested back in April 2004 following a free concert given by Lavigne in the American city - and was later released on $5,000 (GBP2,700) bail.
Police confiscated a shotgun, an assault rifle and a pistol from his home.16/02/2005 03:02
