Backstreet Boys star A.J. McLean is raising money for his new charity by offering fans a chance to be extras in his upcoming solo music video.

The Everybody hitmaker is preparing to release his new album, The Anthem, and for his first single, Live Together, he is giving fans the opportunity to appear in the promo, which will be shot in Los Angeles on Saturday (07Mar15).

MCLean is aiming to raise $15,000 (£9,375) for his new Live Together Foundation by urging fans to donate $25 (£15.63) to the charity. The first 300 fans who bring their receipt to the video set will receive a limited edition T-shirt, which will be worn in the promo.

He has taken to social media to promote the fundraiser, and in a video posted on Instagram, he says, "Donate and be a part of this amazing movement. Hope to see you guys there - we need 300 (extras). Let's do it!"

MCLean co-founded the organisation last year (14) with his longtime friend, songwriter Jordan Omley. The group aims to help individuals in need no matter what the problem.
