British singer Badly Drawn Boy is suing his former record label for $540,000 (GBP300,000) in unpaid royalties.

The musician - real name DAMON GOUGH - wants XL to pay him $360,000 (GBP200,000) for the soundtrack to Hugh Grant movie About A Boy and $71,640 (GBP39,800) for his last album ONE PLUS ONE IS ONE.

Record bosses claim they're withholding payments on the About The Boy album until XL recoups the advance payment it made to movie company WORKING TITLE for the rights to release the soundtrack.
