Acclaimed southern rockers Band Of Horses have been given a huge boost as they aim for the mainstream - they will be honoured at the 28th annual American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Pop Awards at the end of the month (Apr11).
The group will be presented with ASCAP's Vanguard Award in a ceremony at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.
The award recognises the impact of musical genres that help shape the future of American music.
Band of Horses will also perform at the event.
Past Ascap Vanguard Award honorees include Beck, the Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails and Arcade Fire.
The evening will also include a special musical tribute to Rod Stewart, who will be honoured with Ascap's Founders Award.
