Barbra Streisand called on British singer Ryan Molloy to save the day at her London show on Saturday (01Jun13) after her duet partners unexpectedly cancelled.

The Funny Girl star was due to perform her finale with classical act Il Volo but the Italian trio pulled out at the last minute, prompting Streisand's stage manager to recruit Molloy.

The former Frankie Goes to Hollywood frontman is currently performing in hit West End show Jersey Boys, but he dropped everything to share the stage with Streisand.

Molloy tells Britain's Daily Mail, "It was totally surreal. As soon as I got the call I asked if I could have the night off. Thankfully my understudy, Jon Lee from the pop band S Club 7, said he would cover me for the evening. I arrived at the O2 Arena and we only had one run-through with the band, then it was showtime. My heart was pumping when I walked on to the stage. I looked to my right and there were 18,000 people screaming and then to my left, there she was... It was a dream come true."
