The veteran musician, who struggles with diabetes, was hospitalised in Las Vegas last week (30Apr15) after King's daughter, Patty, reportedly filed a police complaint accusing his manager Laverne Toney of refusing to seek medical help after her father's health took a turn for the worse.

Paramedics determined King had suffered a minor heart attack and he was briefly hospitalised.

The guitar great was discharged hours later and placed under hospice care at his Sin City home.

His other daughter, Karen Williams, has since filed court papers seeking guardianship of the icon's estate, amid accusations Toney has failed to give her father the care he needs and has been keeping friends and family away.

Toney's lawyer has since responded to the claims by issuing a statement to TMZ.com, in which King's doctor of 10 years, Dr. Darin Brimhall, insists he fully approves of the treatment given to the musician.

The statement reads: "The care and treatment that Mr. King has received, and continues to receive, is medically appropriate and I have seen no signs of any mistreatment of Mr. King."
