From a pop-up fancy dress boutique to an experimental sound garden and bespoke kids area, on site there will be gourmet treats and unexpected oddities to satisfy all ages. And this wouldn't be complete without a contribution from the crowd: the fancy dress theme for this year is 'All the Fun of the Fair'.

ATTRACTIONS HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

Being 747 presents The Clockwork Universe.

The universe isn't just big - it's big multiplied by gigantic to the power of enormous! From the makers of 'Amoeba to Zebra', Yorkshire-based astound-o-pop trio, BEING 747, bring you a brand new scientific rock opera that will stretch your imagination to infinity, and possibly beyond - 'The Clockwork Universe'. Starting with the ancient Greeks, the first to attempt to find order in chaos, the show explores the history and development of the scientific method and concepts in physics with a huge dose of musicality and goofball humour.

Pop-Up Fancy Dress by ReMade in Leeds

For many years the English have found fun on the fairground; freakshows, fortune tellers, facepainting and dizzying carousels have long created that bizarre terrain of ramshackle glamour and clownish tomfoolery.

Costume interpretation is entirely up to you, but make sure you pick something suitably bedazzling. Limited time? Just visit our in-house costumiers, ReMade, who will transform you with glitter, feathers and

paint.

Neon Love

Borrowing from well-known songs, the artists behind this installation created sequences of twelve red neon lyrical statements to express the many configurations of love. An artwork born out of a romantic relationship between two artists, Victoria Lucas and Richard William Wheater - one passionate about neon (Wheater), the other passionate about the subject of time (Lucas) - the project celebrates expressions of intimacy, adoration and heartbreak, using the time-based properties of light. Beacons is lucky enough to exhibit some of these pieces, so keep your eyes peeled.

Whitelocks Real Ale Tent

As well as the usual festival bars serving more standard beers and drinks there will also be a real ale tent at the festival. Whitelocks is the oldest and most established real ale house in Leeds. It first got its alcohol licence in 1715 and since then has been gaining a reputation for fantastic ales from the region. Concentrating on local ales such as Ilkley, Leeds, Kirkstall, Elland, Village, Burley Street, Revolutions, Roosters, Ridgeside and Osset Brewaries. Whitelocks have a vast knowledge of the best new and traditional ales and are bringing it to Beacons this year. In addition to the real ales Whitelocks will also be serving up craft beers such as Odell's, Anchor, Brooklyn, Goose Island, Sierra Nevada and lots lots more. There will also be a range of unique Ciders in several flavours and varieties along with a selection of classic cocktails too

Food Stalls

A selection of food stalls will be present all weekend providing a wide array of delicious freshly cooked delights including: Purely Wood Fired's pizzas which are made freshly, using only the finest ingredients, cooked in their mobile wood fired oven. The Green Machine, a family run business, specializing in vegetarian and vegan food, dedicated to reducing the carbon-footprint whilst promoting healthy eating. Spud of the Earth, a British jacket potato company that combines the traditional with the modern by taking an innovative, creative and contemporary approach. Gandhi's Flip Flop who make authentic vegetarian curry and are here to serve the needs of those fancying something a little Indian. The Cumberland and Moorland Sausage company who sell sausages - just sausages - of Cumbrian pork from their small farm in the Lake District. Plus the Tasty Burger and Tasty Fish company.
