Beady Eye - Beady Eye Play Surprise Set As Rain Threatens To Hit Glastonbury
Rockers Beady Eye kicked off the first official day of Britain's Glastonbury festival with a surprise set on Friday (28Jun13) as downpours threatened to hit the site and turn it into a quagmire.
As heavy grey clouds hung ominously over the event in south west England, Liam Gallagher's band took to the stage at 11am local time for an unscheduled performance.
They played tracks from new album Be as well as songs by Gallagher's former group Oasis, including Rock 'n' Roll Star and Morning Glory.
As they departed after a 45-minute set, Gallagher told the crowd, "You've all been brilliant, but not as good as us."
Rumours surfaced earlier this week (beg24Jun13) suggesting Beady Eye were one of several acts lined up for surprise performances at Glastonbury this weekend (28-30Jun13).
