Stereophonics star Kelly Jones braved the snow in London on Monday (11Feb13) as he performed outside Abbey Road Studios to mark the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' debut album.

The Fab Four headed into the legendary venue in February 1963 to lay down tracks for Please Please Me, which they released just a month later after a marathon day-long recording session.

The Welsh rocker turned heads on Monday as he paid tribute to his idols outside the studios, playing the album's opening track I Saw Her Standing There on his guitar.

Jones was at Abbey Road Studios to take part in a challenge to recreate the entire album during a live broadcast on Britain's Radio 2.

Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall, soul star Joss Stone, Blue rocker Graham Coxon and singer Beverley Knight have also signed up to participate in the programme.
