Paul McCartney has urged Beatles fans old and new not to believe everything they read or watch about the Fab Four - because books and TV documentaries about the band are often full of errors.
The Love Me Do singer admits he can't believe how often so-called students of the Beatles and historians get their facts wrong.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "All the legendary stories that get created aren't true. I just saw some Beatles programme... and in the first five minutes were four mistakes.
"This is why we don't know who (William) Shakespeare was or what really happened at the Battle of Hastings."
