Rarely seen candid photos of the Beatles and Rolling Stones at work and play have gone on show in New York after the bands' former tour manager chose to share his collection of snapshots.
Bob Bonis was the tour manager for both the Rolling Stones first U.S. tour and the Beatles last in the 1960s and he took every opportunity to shoot the British supergroups.
A serious photographer, Bonis estimates he took over 3,500 shots of the bands - and now a selection of them make up The British Are Coming! exhibition at the Not Fade Away Gallery in New York.
Highlights include shots of Keith Richards and Brian Jones poolside at a hotel in Florida on the day they wrote (I Cant Get No) Satisfaction, and a poignant portrait of John Lennon backstage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at one of the Beatles last concerts.

Mother Nature's Son's picture

Mother Nature's Son

Would there be any chance of changing the pictures contactmusic.com uses on the Beatles news pages? We've had NFL footballers in Abbey Road for months now. As far as I know, none of the guys pictures were actually on any Beatles recordings. Indeed, many readers outside of the US will have no idea whatsoever who they are!
