It's not a huge improvement but at this stage it's enough, Robin Gibb is showing flickers of life as he fights to come out of a coma brought on by what doctors believe is pneumonia. For the past week or so Gibb's family, including Bee Gees brother Barry and his wife Dwina as well as children Melissa, Spencer and RJ, have been keeping vigil at his bedside.
The UK's Sun newspaper reports that after a long wait Gibb is showing the briefest glimpses of life, a source telling them "There were flickers of life from Robin. His eyes moved and there was an attempt at speech." Continuing they added, "It was a good sign he is fighting hard for his life but he is certainly not out of the woods yet. The family have to remain very cautious."
Gibb has had a long battle with colon and liver cancer, only to be told by doctors that he was starting to beat the illnesses back in March, however this pneumonia has taken hold because the strain his body has been under to try and fight those ailments. It caused him to miss the debut performance of his classical score the Titanic Requiem, written with his son RJ to commemorate 100 years since The Titanic sank and earlier this week looked like costing him his life which, it has to be said, still remains in the balance.
