Ben Whishaw thinks being mobbed is a ''terrible'' way of living and feels sorry for celebrities, such as Kristen Stewart, who are constantly in the limelight.
Ben Whishaw feels sorry for celebrities who are ''mobbed'' everywhere they go.
The 32-year-old actor still tries to live a normal private life despite his growing fame - which has increased since he played Q in the latest James Bond film 'Skyfall' - and he has a great deal of sympathy for stars who can't escape the limelight, such as Kristen Stewart.
He said: ''I just keep myself to myself, mostly. Perhaps that's why people don't see me as this larger-than-life ... celebrity.
''I do get stopped on the street, and they always have something lovely to say. Someone was talking to me about that poor girl in the 'Twilight' films, Kristen. I wouldn't like that. Not at all. Living in hotel rooms and being mobbed. A terrible state of existing. Terrible.''
Ben had a great time shooting his debut 007 adventure with Daniel Craig but he was most excited when he first
Dame Judi Dench, who plays MI6 boss M in the films.
Their first encounter happened at the movie's world premiere in London last October because they never met on set.
Speaking to online men's fashion journal Mr Porter - which he modelled for - Ben said: ''We actually never met on set for Bond, Judi and I. I think it was at the premiere that we first managed to say hello to one another properly.
''That whole Bond experience pretty much blew my mind - if only for my realisation of the insatiable global appetite for James Bond. His legacy will go on far longer than any of ours.''
