Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are keen to marry in early 2015.

The 'Bad Teacher' star has reportedly been proposed to by the 35-year-old rocker with both wanting the nuptials to take place as soon as possible.

A source close to the 42-year-old actress revealed: ''Cameron hasn't been this happy in a long time. She found someone who knew how lucky he was to have her.

''The other guys treated her badly, but Benji would do anything for her. She's madly in love.''

Cameron is believed to have initially bonded with the 'Keep Your Hands Off My Girl' hitmaker because of her ''great taste in music'' and she quickly began telling people he was ''the one'' because of his ''chivalrous ways,'' according to Us Weekly magazine.

Meanwhile Benji - who now performs alongside his twin brother, Joel Madden as The Madden Brothers - has a close connection with Cameron's mother, Billie.

An insider previously shared: ''Billie absolutely loved Benji. She has been gushing about the relationship, saying she hopes Cameron settles down with him.''

Cameron - who has previously dated Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake - recently revealed that ''timing'' was the secret to a happy relationship.

She explained: ''You have to find someone in the same place as you are. Timing is everything. If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn't want, it's never going to work.

''You're never going to get him to be in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who's in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.''
