Friends, family and fans of Irish singer Bernie Nolan gathered in Blackpool, England on Wednesday (17Jul13) to attend the tragic star's funeral.

The 52 year old lost her battle with breast cancer on 4 July (13) and to celebrate her life, a memorial was held at the Grant Theatre, where the singer and her siblings performed in their early years as the Nolan Sisters.

Mourners lined the streets to pay their respects and listen to the ceremony via outdoor speakers, as her sister Maureen Nolan read aloud a touching letter from Bernie, which said, "I think I'm worth a little crying but not too much. No one has has had a better life than me."

The star's ex-husband, EastEnders actor Shane Richie, British actress Tupele Dorgu and comedians Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball were also in attendance, as was her teenage daughter Erin, who delivered a short speech to the crowd before her mum's coffin, adorned with red flowers, was carried outside.

The singer is set to be cremated and laid to rest alongside the ashes of her stillborn daughter Kate, who died in 1997.
